Suzanne Benno

I bring to my position at ESC a significant and broad interdisciplinary academic and professional background which provides me a solid understanding of the unique aspects of Empire State College.  I draw on my past experiences in History, Education and Business to effectively mentor adult students. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in History and Political Science and I then earned a Master’s in Education. I returned to school as an adult learner to earn my MBA degree. I worked for several years in business designing and developing accounting systems for small to mid-sized businesses and training staff and executives who would be responsible for the oversight of these accounting functions. I have taught accounting, entrepreneurship, and business at area colleges for several years. My efforts are now concentrated on mentoring adult learners at ESC. It is a privilege to work with individuals from a variety of backgrounds and at a variety of stages in their academic and career growth plans.
