I have degrees in early childhood education, development, and educational psychology. I have taught early childhood education and child development at Dutchess and Ulster Community Colleges, Marist College, and for the last 11 years with Empire State College, Hudson Valley Center. Interestingly, I am a graduate of Empire State College.
I have vast experience in mentoring and adult learning. I have been involved over 18 years with Network for Youth Success as an instructor, advisor and endorser for the NYS School Age Child Care credential. I have served the Early Childhood Advisory Committee for Dutchess Community College for over 25 years. I have presented workshops and trainings for the Child Care Council of Dutchess and Putnam Counties, Inc. for over 25 years and recently retired after 22 years from the steering committee of the Mid-Hudson Infant Toddler Coalition that organized trainings for early childhood providers.
While I have experience in early childhood education, I also offer courses in Cognitive Psychology, Sociology of Education, Learning Theories, Educational Psychology and other topics in education and development.
I live in Dutchess County, New York with my husband of 34 years, and have 4 children and 9 grandchildren.
