I have been a Full-time Mentor/Assistant Professor at ESC since July, 2016. Before ESC, I was a Senior Education Specialist at the School of Social Welfare at Stony Brook University for almost 14 years and an Adjunct Professor at Adelphi University for 5 years. As a Senior Education Specialist, I facilitated numerous seminars on current policy and practice issues in the field of child welfare and juvenile justice. I worked collaboratively with University Partners (Albany, Hunter, Buffalo) and New York State Office of Children and Families Services for publishing and training statewide curriculums geared towards adolescents and children in foster care and juvenile justice. As an adjunct faculty member at Adelphi University, I taught social work practice courses to Master’s level and advanced Bachelor’s degree students.
I am also an LMSW with extensive practical knowledge working in the human services/social work field. I have worked in a variety of settings over the years, however, the majority of my practical experience has been working with homeless and at-risk youth in New York City and Long Island.
