Michael DiNicola

Michael DiNicola joined the School of Nursing as an academic advisor in 2015. In addition to his advisement duties, Michael co-teaches educational planning and serves on many college wide committees.   He also participates in outreach and retention efforts for prospective and currently enrolled nursing students.  Michael holds master's degrees in educational psychology and college student services administration from The College of Saint Rose in Albany, New York.  Prior to coming to Empire State College, Michael worked as an advisor in the financial aid office at Schenectady County Community College. Prior to this, he was interim director and assistant director of admissions at Maria College.  Michael is very involved with NACADA, the National Academic Advising Association, and regularly attends and presents on current advisement issues at conferences.  Michael is also a member of the Albany Running Exchange road racing team and competed in the Boston Marathon in April 2022.  Michael enjoys helping others achieve their goals and is happy to work with the students and staff of the School of Nursing at SUNY Empire State College.
